Summer of British Club Racing Continues at Rockingham
WITH the new academic year just around the corner, why not treat the family to one last treat to mark the end of the summer holidays.
Rockingham continues its summer of British club racing with the BARC race meeting over the weekend of September 5/6, offering families the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic day out at a price they can afford.
With the penultimate round of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship heading to the circuit in three weeks, the BARC race meeting provides the chance to see where it all started with Classic Saloons, Classic Modified Saloons and Post Historic Touring Cars all in action.
The BARC Formula Renault and Kumho BMW Championships will also be racing on the International Super Sports Car Circuit. There will be the last chance of the season to see the awesome 150mph Pickup Trucks in action on the 1.5 mile banked oval.
The entertainment won’t be confined to the track and on race day there will be plenty for all the family to enjoy, including face painters, a temporary tattooist, and a chance to get behind the wheel on the Rockingham simulators.
Families can enjoy this feast of motor racing for as little as £10 per adult if they’ve been to see a race meeting in 2009 at Rockingham or any other MSA licensed UK circuit*. Just bring your old tickets along to receive £5 off the Sunday (race day) gate admission price.
But don’t worry if you haven’t got an old ticket, in addition to the generous child admission policy in which children aged 15 and under get in for free, Rockingham has also frozen its ticket prices for club race meetings.
Those wishing to book tickets in advance and save up to 20 per cent on adult admission prices have until noon on Friday, September 4. Advance tickets cost £18 for the weekend, £12 for Sunday or £8 for Saturday and can be booked online at www.rockingham.co.uk or via the ticket hotline on 01536 500500.
Adult tickets will be available on the gate and will cost £20 for the weekend, £15 on Sunday or £10 on Saturday. General admission includes access to an open paddock and unreserved grandstand seat.
*Tickets will be accepted from the following MSA licensed UK circuits: Anglesey, Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Castle Coombe, Croft, Donington Park, Goodwood, Kirkistown, Knockhill, Lydden, Mallory Park, Oulton Park, Pembrey, Rockingham, Silverstone, Snetterton and Thruxton
