11 March 2010 (Half day Winter Driving Wet Grip session)

Following the introduction of the Corporate Manslaughter Act, all companies in the UK now have a duty of care to provide each of their employees with the best possible training available to ensure their health and safety at work.

Work often includes driving and over 1200 people die in work related incidents on the road each year.

Of the 140,361 reported road accidents in 2007 where a contributory factor was reported, 13,514 (10%) were caused by slippery roads due to weather, 13,856 by travelling too fast for the road conditions and 20,540 (15%) were caused by loss of control - all of which fall into the top 10 contributory factors.

Businesses that employ more than five people - even those without a company car fleet - now have a legal obligation to have a road safety policy in place. That’s where Rockingham's DriveSafe comes in.

Courses lasts an entire day and include the following areas:
• Driver attitude and awareness
• Recent changes in law and the implications for the company car or professional driver
• The causes of and how to deal with a sudden loss of vehicle control
• Modern vehicle safety features and new technology
• An introduction to roadcraft
• Fuel efficiency

“ ESC is one of the most important safety devices since the seat belt.”

World Rally Champion,
Sebastion Loeb
